My fascination with Lara Croft resulted from the Angelina Jolie`s portrayal of her in the film. Although I had played the game before, I wasn't so inspired by her until I went to see the movie. The next Halloween, I dressed as Lara Croft while my husband dressed like Indiana Jones. We were a hit and I was kinda tickled by how much people really liked my costume and thought that my resemblance to Angelina was uncanny! It was great fun and is now inspiring me to dress like her more often.
In my "real life" I am a pet groomer and really love my work and the animals I deal with. I love to study the paranormal and my husband and I seem "strange" to most folks in that we do things that most people shiver at...like when we travel, we love to visit old cemeteries and crypts and things like that. I have had bats as pets as well as a skunk. It's fun to taste the spicier side of life.
I study Aikido with my husband. We are students of Larry Reynosa Sensei, who was at one time the senior disciple of Aikido Master Steven Seagal...who is the actor as well. During that time we met and trained under Seagal Sensei many times at seminars and at private training sessions in his home. We also attended several parties at his home and generally spent a lot of time with him. It was a lot of fun and after the first time, it wasn't weird or anything (like a hanging-with-movie-star-weird) and Seagal Sensei never wanted to be treated like an "actor" or anything as such. He was very nice and personable, spent a lot of time with anyone who wanted to talk with him and pretty much was just our Aikido Teacher then. It was my only cool 'brush with a celebrity' thing. (Angelina Jolie even does an Aikido move in the final fight scene of the film...a tenkan against a punch which she then moves on to other things but was cool to see! HaHa!)
